National Art Honor Society
Qualifying Upper Arlington High School students will pledge this as they are inducted into National Art Honor Society. In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the National Art Honor Society program specifically for high school students to inspire and to recognize those students who have shown an outstanding ability and achievement in their art studies. Members of NAHS will receive a handmade award created by one of the visual arts educators, eligibility in college scholarships, honor cords to be worn at graduation, as well as recognition at the UAHS Academic Awards Ceremony.
The nominees are made up of students who have completed a well-rounded 2.5 visual art credits with an honorable cumulative 3.5 GPA. This year’s induction ceremony will be carried out by the High School Visual Arts Staff, sustaining NAHS members, and include encouraging words from the guest speaker, Nannette Maciejunes, Executive Director of the Columbus Museum of Art.
Each inductee is submitting 2 original artworks into the high school art show at the Concourse Gallery, Upper Arlington Municipal Building. This show will be open to the public April 2nd - April 24th, and the art students are eager to share their artwork with the community!
